We know that moving off campus for students is a big deal and often this is their first time experiencing living on their own. With onsite staff, 24-hour emergency maintenance and so much more, you can be confident that your student is renting from a reputable company that has been serving State College since 1998.
For your convenience, Westside Village has prepared this list of Frequently Asked Questions:
WHEN IS RENT DUE?
The rent is always due on the 1st day of the month. We do allow a 5 day grace period, however, the payment must be received or postmarked by the 5th day or it will be considered late. Late fees will apply.
DO YOU SEND A BILL?
No, however, every tenant and parent is provided with an on-line portal. Once activated you can set your own reminder notice. Here you can pay rent and view all activity on the account.
HOW DO I MAKE RENT PAYMENT?
For parents who choose to manage rent payments, we make paying rent & bills as convenient as possible, accepting the following methods:
- Mail or Stop by our office at 140 N. Gill Street to pay with check or money order. Payments should be made to “Westside Village” or “Westside Manor” depending on the address – ask a staff member for assistance on how to address your check correctly.
- Online payments: Quickly and securely pay rent anywhere at anytime from our using your online portal. We accept Visa, MasterCard, JCB and Discover credit and debit cards as well as electronic checks (e-checks). Please note if you are paying rent with a card there will be an additional fee. This fee is not set by Westside Village. If you are paying rent online, we recommend using the e-check option as it is FREE!
DO YOU OFFER PARKING?
Yes, parking varies by location contact our office for more information. Please refer to our parking agreements on our website for prices and conditions.
IS A PARENTAL GUARANTY REQUIRED?
All students must provide a parental guarantee with the exception of someone that works and can show proof of ability to pay by providing paystubs.
WHAT PAPER WORK IS REQUIRED FOR A PARENTAL GUARANTEE?
A Parental Guarantee form will be sent electronically to 2 co-signers per resident. If you prefer to you can download the Parental_Guaranty form to complete. This option must be notarized, and the original form must be mailed to our office.
WHAT IS A JOINT AND SEVERAL LEASE?
Our leases are joint & several which means all household members and their co-signers are jointly responsible for 100% of all rent & charges to the account.
HOW FAR ARE YOU FROM CAMPUS?
Location, location, location!! Most Westside Village properties are located just a short 5-10 minute walk to campus or downtown, depending on the destination.
MY CHILD HAS ALREADY SIGNED THE LEASE, WHAT’S NEXT?
If your child has already signed a lease with our community, please download the Parents Lease Signing Letter for further detailed information. A copy of this letter will be emailed to each parent upon lease signing.
